BEACH PARTY @ MUMBAI CAFE, BANDRA
Went to a "BEACH PARTY" at Mumbai cafe in Bandra last evening. Basically it was just a huge terrace filled with sand topped with a huge pandal! An event arranged by the submerge.in guys at about 4:30 in the evening till about 10:00, this place played some seriously good music! I came in only at about 7 PM, but my friends did tell me, that the first guy, DJ Anurag was pretty good! When i reached, DJ Nawed was kicking it with some of my favourite tracks from Pete Tong's essential mixes and Frankfurt by the one and only Pryda! Good party, cheap booze and really cheap entry!
It was good, but died down half way down the middle when Nawed played the really REALLY popular tracks, David Guetta et all, it was getting kinda pushy! He was trying really hard to make us dance , but then ...in the end..it doesn't even matter!
Anyway, all in all, good way to spend a sunday evening, rather than going to TOTOS or Hawaian Shack and listening to fucking 80's music!!!

I FINALLY OWN GU CDs!!
It was supposed to be my bday gift, it came 3 months later...but its finally here! I now own SHARAM GU 29 & DUBFIRE TAIPEI GU 31.
Together these guys are known as Deep Dish, one of the best DJ Producer Duo's i have ever heard. I love them and now i own them. Got them this Monday and i was freaked! Big shout to Aalaap, thanks man...this is the best birthday gift ever!

Nick Warren @ Poison - Wed, 23.05.07
Nick Warren played at Poison last night. He was in one word...Brilliant!
We entered Posion at around 11 only to find out that no one was there. Thought Nick Warren would just not play owing the crowd, but nope! DJ Llyod opened with some good funk and progressive house. After about half an hour, the man Nick Warren took over . Started with a couple of popular GU 30 and GU 32 tracks. Then came the smashing Paolo Mojo, 1984 track and that completely rocked the house! Kept the same hard dance goin on, made the desis and me crazy on the floor, and then played "Vanessa Mae- I Feel Love ". Took it to another level , danced even harder and then went on to some old school, progressive- Nick Warren style.
The brilliant 2.5 hr set ended with a track that i am still trying to figure out....I can only remember some of the words..." Dancing , Dancing....".
The crowd was fine, except for this motherfucking guy standing beside me an screaming like it was a fucking rock concert!
But in the end, in the words of Nick Warredn himself..."Mumbai...YOU ARE WICKED!!"

Paul Oakenfold @ Kamala Mills , 12.05.07
Paul Oakenfold played in Mumbai at City Studio last Saturday. I admit as much i would hate it as i am a big fan of him too...but the set was really crappy. He is one of the biggest DJ , Producers of all time , but this time around his set just sounded like he was a newbie!
Highlights were of course..Southern Sun( Doesn't he play that in every set now!!) and of course Grease 2000. Good start but then just went really bad on its knees.
Suprisingly, the guy who opened and closed the nite , DJ Dale played some good progressive before and later. I enjoyed him more than Oakenfold . He plays in Delhi for some club, really good DJ though.
But one good thing did come out of the event. I met a guy who is much more than just music, he is MUSIC. Talvin Singh is his name and Jaan was his name to fame. He has given up his pointy hairdo for a much sobered down look n0w but the man has some history to tell.
Really would have expected more from Mr. Oakenfold.. But i guess it comes with age. Or does it?
